SSTC hosts a youth shooting team, the “Vulcan Clay Breakers,” (Vulcan Clay Breakers, Facebook) that teaches students, free of charge, from age eleven through college under the auspices of the national “Scholastic Clay Target Program” (SCTP). Skeet and trap shooting are both Olympic sports in which United States competitors regularly excel (USA Olympic Shooting). Clay target shooting sports teach our girls and boys positive character traits and citizenship values in a supportive environment, closely mentored by dedicated adult volunteers. You hit or you miss, and it’s nobody else’s fault! Concentrate! SCTP is growing rapidly in high schools nationwide (Article), and SSTC is determined to do its part locally to encourage the next generation of youth competitors.
